‘Jurassic World 3: Dominion’: Everything you need to know
The 1990s brought to life one of the most popular movie franchises in cinema history, Jurassic Park. With three movies, the franchise was a huge success as we got to see realistic dinosaurs on the big screen for the very first time. For fans of the franchise, it was super exciting to see it brought back to life in 2015.
With big stars like Chris Pratt at the helm, the movies were a huge hit and now a third is on its way. Jurassic World 3: Dominion is currently in the works and all you need to know about the film can be found here.
Details of the Film
When is Jurassic World 3: Dominion coming out?
As far as the release date is concerned, it is tentatively set for June 11, 2021. Fans will hopefully get a glimpse as to what is to come in the new few months via a teaser trailer.
Will Chris Pratt be in Jurassic World 3? Will the popular character Alan Grant be in the film?
Yes, and yes! Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are both back in action along with other familiar faces. Sam Neill will reprise his role as Alan Grant along with Laura Dern playing Ellie Sattler and Jeff Goldblum playing Ian Malcolm.
With the older characters coming into play, we can only assume that the dinosaurs are so out of hand that Pratt and Howard need expert help. It is unclear as to if any other older characters will be brought back to the film franchise, but so far, the major players are included.
Will Blue be in the movie?
So far, it is unclear. For those unsure of who Blue is, she is a velociraptor that Chris Pratt’s character took care of in the newer films. If we were to guess about Blue being in the movie, then the answer would be yes. Spoiler Alert; we know Blue survived Jurassic World as it was destroyed, but what was her fate?
Cameras just started rolling on the film in early July at Pinewood Studios in London. We expect that a few looks at the film will be provided in the near future as the footage is released!
Old and New
Does Jurassic World 3 ignore the first two films?
It doesn’t appear so and it even looks like they may go back to the original island.
In recent news reports, it has been made known that Jurassic World 3: Dominion is tying the new films featuring Chris Pratt to the older 90s films. In a recent image online, a cold storage container was shown with the InGen logo and the words ‘Site B Isla Sorna’.
InGen stands for International Genetics which is a company created by John Hammond to bring dinosaurs back to life in the original film. Isla Sorna is the island where The Lost World and Jurassic Park III were based. So, will the new movie go back to Isla Sorna? Or is this just an Easter Egg that fans of the movie will recognize? As of right now, it is unclear but certainly puts more excitement around the new movie!
Fans have also been asking if this is the last Jurassic World movie?
It doesn’t appear so. Producer Frank Marshall confirmed that the new film is not a conclusion of the franchise and it is actually a new era. Marshall actually eluded to even more stories for Jurassic Park by stating that the dinosaurs are now on the mainland and they will be for quite some time, he hopes.
The Jurassic Park/World franchise is huge, even in its early days. Fans who watched the original movies as kids now have kids of their own who are becoming fans. Over the decades, fans have collected copies of the film, merchandise such as toys and memorabilia, and even autographs of the stars of the film. The dinosaurs play a major role in the film and kids love playing with smaller versions of these larger than life animals.
The branding and merchandising of the franchise are massive. There is so much to collect or enjoy. Even older items are gaining in value as the new movie prepares to launch! The franchise is so popular, it can be seen on board games and slot machines. With slot games, the titles are popular among fans who like to visit casinos in Las Vegas. There are even online slot games you can play based on the franchise!
Even though we only have a list of stars in the movie and a few details, fans are still excited to see what Jurassic World 3: Dominion will offer. It is almost guaranteed that the movie will feature larger than life dinosaurs, a ton of familiar faces, and hopefully a little nostalgia from the 1990s.
Over the next few months, fans should see even more details regarding the new movie, hopefully, a little more insight into the plot and storyline!
