How did Snoop Dogg make his net worth over the years?
Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. is better known as Snoop Dogg, or Snoop Doggy Dogg, and briefly, or reasons we still can’t understand, Snoop Lion. Either way, this legendary performer made bank over the thirty-plus years he’s been active, garnering himself a net worth of $124 million by 2017 and grew to $150 million in 2020.
So how did Snoop Dogg amass this much net worth over three decades? Let’s take a look at the ways Snoop Dogg made his money.
Snoop Dogg got his start in gangsta rap, “popping out hits like every single day” including “Gin & Juice”. Before that, he spent his childhood rapping, drawing crowds in his high school. After a string of incarcerations and gang activity, he began making homemade tapes with Nate Dogg, Lil’ ½ Dead, and Warren G. One of those tapes ended up on the desk of former NWA member & music producer Dr. Dre. The rest is history.
Snoop Dogg rocketed to fame music when he appeared on Dr. Dre’s game-changing 1992 album The Chronic. He appeared on Dr. Dre’s single “Ain’t Nothin But A G Thang” and “The next year, he released his first album on Dr. Dre’s Death Row Records, Doggystyle, which was a commercial & critical hit, debuting at number 1 on Billboard.
Snoop Dogg left Death Row Records in 1998 but continued putting out music & collaborating with artists. His 2004 single “Drop It Like It’s Hot” featuring Pharrel Williams is still an earworm infesting our brains. It also won a Grammy nomination and an MTV Australia Award for best hip-hop video.
Through Snoop Dogg’s career, he won numerous awards, including from MTV, BET, Soul Train, AMA, and Billboard.

Starring & guest-starring roles
Snoop Dogg appeared in movies, TV shows, comedy sketches, and – porn? Yep, Snoop Dogg contributed to his net worth partly thanks to a Hustler. He starred as “Michael J. Corleone” in Snoop Dogg’s Doggystyle, a hardcore porn film based on his music. The following year, not only would he star in another porno, he’d direct it.
Snoop Dogg has also appeared in family fare, including an Old Navy commercial and Wrestlemania as the Master of Ceremonies. He guest-starred in a lot of animated shows, including American Dad. He also did a jazz concert with Herbie Hancock, who Snoop Dogg’s credits with inventing hip hop.
A film production company & record label
Snoop Dogg isn’t just a content creator anymore. He’s a producer and owns a record company and a film production company.
Snoop Dogg founded his record label, Doggystyle Records in 1995. Since 2000, he’s released a healthy number of records from his label, including the Bones and The Wash soundtracks. Most of the records released from Doggystyle Records are Snoop Dogg’s own releases or collaborations with various artists called Snoop Dogg Presents.
Snoop Dogg’s film company, Snoopadelic Films, produced films like Boss’n Up, Hood of Horror, and Reincarnated. Snoop Dogg’s film company also helped production with a Vh1 show featuring Snoop Dogg and . . . Martha Stewart?

Snoop Dogg loves food. Recently, he turned his love of cooking & wine into big business. He bolsters his net worth with his own wine, 19 crimes. The grapes are grown in Northern California. You can find it at supermarkets. He also has his own cookbook out, called From Crook to Cook: Platinum Recipes from Tha Boss Dogg’s Kitchen.
He stars with Martha Stewart on Vh1’s Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party. The variety show ran for three seasons and featured fellow performers like Fergie, Meghan Trainor, Method Man, Paris Hilton, and two of The Jonas Brothers. The third season changed it up by changing to a competition format.
Snoop Dogg has no signs of slowing down. Are you a fan from way back? Have you tried his wine yet? Let us know in the comments!
