What were Jeffrey Epstein’s ties to Bill Clinton? Everything we know
Jeffrey Epstein’s connections with prominent figures never seem to end. Known for networking and “invest[ing] in people”, Epstein’s group of friends was impressive. As information about Epstein’s private island & sexual abuse has been revealed, these ties to former & current politicians have gained widespread attention.
Enter Bill Clinton. Epstein came into the spotlight when Clinton’s trip to Africa made headlines. While Clinton continues to deny allegations of being involved with Epstein’s crimes, the two share numerous incriminating ties.
A trip to Africa
In 2002, Bill Clinton & Jeffrey Epstein toured African countries on a week-long trip along with actors Kevin Spacey & Chris Tucker. It was a trip for the Clinton Foundation meant to raise awareness about the H.I.V. & AIDS crisis and poverty in Africa.
Until the trip to Africa, Epstein kept out of the media’s attention. However, his sudden connection with the president quickly put the socialite in the media spotlight. Clinton went with Epstein because Epstein had a private jet whose infamous sobriquet is “Lolita Express”.
After the trip, Clinton calling Epstein a “highly successful financier and a committed philanthropist” in a statement.
Photos of Clinton
Earlier this year, leaked photographs showed Clinton with Ghislaine Maxwell on the trip to Africa. Maxwell has been accused of recruiting girls for Epstein and is under FBI investigation at this time.
Other photos from the trip show Clinton with Chauntae Davies, who is known for being Epstein’s masseuse and has accused Epstein of sexual assault.
Other trips with Epstein
Clinton took three other trips with Epstein from 2002 to 2003. Clinton’s spokesperson Angel Ureña reported they were all in connection to the Clinton Foundation. Flight records revealed Clinton & Epstein had taken even more flights together – up to twenty-six – but no information has come to light explaining what those flights were for.
Virginia Roberts, one of the most prominent women who has accused Epstein of sex trafficking, said she saw President Clinton on Little St. James, Jeffrey Epstein’s island in the U.S. Virgin Islands. When she asked Epstein what Clinton was doing, Epstein said, “Well, he owes me a favor.”
In Netflix’s Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich docuseries, Steve Scully, a former employee on Epstein’s island, also claimed to have seen Clinton on Little St. James sitting with Epstein in the “living room porch area” – “Jeffrey’s favorite spot”, according to Scully.
Clinton repeatedly denied claims he’s been on Little St. James.
Epstein’s personal phonebook
Epstein’s phonebook was published after being submitted in court as an exhibit against Epstein in 2015. The phonebook had over twenty separate contacts to reach Bill Clinton, some filed under Doug Band, who was Clinton’s former adviser.
Epstein had previously led the C.O.U.Q. Foundation, supposedly a charity organization. In 2006, the organization donated $25,000 to the Clinton Foundation.
The C.O.U.Q. Foundation’s name can still be seen on the Clinton Foundation’s website under a list of donors.
